PCG joins clean-up drive in support of Manila Bay rehabilitation program

Personnel of the Philippine Coast Guard participated in a clean-up drive in support of the Manila Bay rehabilitation program held in Pasay City on Monday, June 7.

The Coast Guard members have collected a total of 100 sacks of waste materials during the activity.

PCG Commandant Admiral George Ursabia Jr. graced the event, which was one of the 23rd founding anniversary activities of the Coast Guard’s Marine Environmental Protection Command (MEPCOM) and a pre-celebration activity of the World Ocean’s Day on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the PCG also expressed support to the SM Prime Holdings, Inc. in ensuring “all waterways within its business environment are clean and well-managed.”

“The PCG supports the SM Prime Holdings, Inc. in ensuring all waterways within its business environment are clean and well-managed, especially in areas where the condition of waterways directly impacts large bodies of water, such as the Manila Bay,” it said in a statement.
