Pasay LGU establishes booths in malls for safety seal certification application

The Pasay City government has established booths in five malls for easy application of safety seal certification of businesses in the city.

Mitch Pardo, officer-in-charge of Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO), said the booths for easy application for safety seal certification were established at the SM Mall of Asia, Resorts World, WMall in Macapagal, and at Victory Mall.

Pardo said the safety seal certification was given to the SM Mall of Asia on June 11 during its launching which was attended by Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya, the city’s lone Representative Antonino Calixto, and the City Council.

She said the launching of booths at the five malls around the city is like a one-stop-shop for the businesses for easy application for the safety seal certification.

The BPLO OIC said Rubiano was happy after learning of the initiatives of the BPLO, members from the Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP), City Health Office (CHO), City Environment and Natural Resources (CENRO), and the local police in helping business establishments in applying for the safety seal certification.

Pardo said the group will also be divided into two for their deployment at the five booths in malls for easy checking of the requirements needed in applying for the safety seal certification.

All LGUs under Joint Memorandum Circular No. 21-01 are mandated to create a Safety Seal Certification Committee that shall serve as the issuing authority for the registered business establishments that wishes to be inspected and verified with safety seal to increase consumers confidence that the business establishment is compliant with the health protocols.
