ZAMBOANGA CITY, Dec 011 (PIA) – The City Government of Zamboanga and SM Foundation turned over two new fully furnished school buildings to Zamboanga Central School SPED Center last week. The local government through Mayor Beng Climaco provided a three storey building with complete facilities.

As part of the commitment of SM Foundation to uplift the lives of families in the communities, the foundation chose the Zamboanga Central School SPED Center as the beneficiary of the first school building they built in Zamboanga City.

SM Foundation representative Oliver Tiu emphasized that the foundation commits to grow with communities and hopes to empower the learners with the two storey 4-classroom building. “We hope that it could help them prepare to take own roads in committing to development and in nation building,” he added.

The buildings are emergency-ready, PWD friendly and have complete facilities to provide convenience to the learners and teachers. SM Foundation also converted two rooms into home economics and laboratory rooms to make the students ready for secondary studies, specifically senior high school.

Zamboanga Central School SPED Center Principal Dr. Edsel Francisco expressed his gratitude to the benefactors of the new school buildings. “Through these facilities we are realizing quality education for our learners and also opening doors by making the school accessible to all,” he said.
