SM Foundation, in collaboration with SM Cauayan City, distributed 3,000 relief goods called Kalinga packs to Typhoon ‘Ompong’ affected residents who sought shelter at evacuation centers located in Ilagan City, Tumauini and Cabagan.

Cauayan City, Isabela ― Committed to help the families in calamity-stricken areas of the country, SM Foundation Inc. once again extended a helping hand to families affected by Typhoon “Ompong” here through its Operation Tulong Express Medical Mission on Tuesday.

With the support of Cauayan City Health Office, volunteer doctors and health workers, and Barangay District 3 officials, around 600 Cauayenos were served by the medical mission, which provided medical consultation and services such as X-ray, electrocardiograph, blood sugar testing, cholesterol test, uric acid test, blood pressure monitoring, and height and weight monitoring.

SM Foundation also distributed medicines and vitamins to the patients through its Gamot Para sa Kapwa medicine program.

Following the onslaught of Ompong in Isabela, at least 3,000 families from Cauayan, Ilagan City, Luna, Cabagan, and Tumauini towns received relief goods from SM Foundation Inc. thru its Operation Tulong Express.

Operation Tulong Express, the calamity response program of SM Foundation, aims to provide immediate relief to victims of calamity. This is part of SM Foundation’s commitment to serve by supporting and empowering its host communities.
